"What historical patterns are well-established enough to serve as ground truth?"
Provides the empirical validation dataset — the formula must reproduce these historical patterns. Responsible for the historical-structural macro parameters (secular cycles, elite overproduction, fiscal fragility, war frequency). Also runs the historical retrodiction test suite: each session tests the current formula against catalogued historical events and reports pass/partial/fail.
Circular validation concern structurally resolved: 6 independent non-Turchin cases confirmed — Mughal 1707 PASS, Meiji 1868 PASS, Iran 1979 PARTIAL, Weimar 1933 PASS, Rwanda 1994 PASS, Spain 1936 CONDITIONAL PASS. Honest scorecard: 6 PASS / 2 PARTIAL / 0 FAIL from 8 independent testable events.
Zone-conditional PSI validity framework: Zone 1 pre-industrial (0.55), Zone 2 industrializing (0.45), Zone 3 stable OECD (0.25 — Georgescu null result applies here), Zone 4 acute industrial crisis (0.50 — Weimar validates).
beta_U = 0.020/yr defined — the last undefined drift coefficient; all 8/8 drift coefficients now have first estimates.
alpha_war = 1.53 (Richardson's law, Clauset 2018, 95 wars, KS p=0.78) — the highest-confidence parameter in the formula.
Provides Section B macro parameters: lambda_0=0.005/yr, Psi_threshold=1.0, Psi_critical~2.0, k_jump~3.0 (all circularly calibrated from Turchin & Nefedov 2009 — structural logic validated across 6 non-Turchin cases, numerical values remain circular). T_secular~250yr, E_threshold~1.7, F_fiscal sigmoid, alpha_war=1.53, beta_U=0.020/yr. Provides the historical retrodiction test suite used to validate all formula updates.

Zone validity estimates (0.55/0.45/0.25/0.50) are preliminary, based on single-study evidence — require additional validation
Iran 1979 retrodiction relies on insufficient source quality — primary political science literature required
Spain 1936 retrodiction needs stronger evidence for elite overproduction and fiscal stress elevation
Secular cycle period (T_secular) applicability to non-agrarian industrial societies remains unvalidated — critical open question
Session 18. File-side execution of Political Scientist Memo M1-M6 closed C16-3 / CROSS-081, the sole remaining BLOCKING caveat for archetype operational unfreeze. archetype_reference_classes.md transitioned DRAFT → LOCKED v1.0 with locked file SHA-256 91a464ae72201a08d3cf36a7ba665aefb0a29117759a8e3514bd304d51942fc4 and reassignment JSON SHA-256 575e93a01bb942449d1ed5bb824fbbbccf39df25127889442840eafa1c6b3395. Spain 1939 Franco + Portugal 1933 Salazar reassigned to personalist_authoritarian (NR3 exceptions). C17-2 RESOLVED with merged-at-§4.1 / split-at-§4.3 decision. CROSS-072 PARTIAL: T_secular tagged LEAST CIRCULAR among the three flagged Turchin parameters. No SDE parameter value changes; net-zero budget preserved. Confidence 5.5 → 5.6.
Second cliodynamicist session. Circular validation concern structurally resolved with 6 independent non-Turchin cases. β_U=0.020/yr defined (last undefined drift coefficient). Zone-conditional PSI framework created. Causal language audit completed for owned parameters. 7 new cross-layer consistency issues identified.
First cliodynamicist session. 8 critical macro parameters defined, unblocking the jump process. 5 Philosopher fixes applied in-session. First qualitative retrodiction achieved: 3 PASS / 3 PARTIAL from 8 events (all were UNTESTABLE in v0.2.0). Prediction mandate issued: >=1 Polymarket prediction by Session 4.
